Projects > Retrieving the Scattered

Selectively incorporating artificial light, Retrieving the Scattered relies on and explores the unpredictable anomaly in the landscape and spurs the questions of investigation. The flash is fired during the exposure highlighting the fact that a disturbance has taken place. Revealing the finality of the event, the subject is frozen by the specific shift of light – akin to crime scene photography. Who belongs to this? How long has it been there? Where did it come from? Why was it forgotten? These queries echoing the element of time, place, and circumstance intertwine within the domesticated landscape and the grandeur of the untamed.
